Lonovics Zoltán régóta meghatározó szereplője a kreatív iparnak. Kezei közül mindig új, figyelemfelkeltő, friss és perspektivikus tartalmak kerülnek ki.

Még MOME-n folytatott tanulmányai alatt lett a the Room magazinnak, egy félévente megjelenő, kétnyelvű, Budapesten szerkesztett folyóiratnak az Art directora, amely divatról és kortárs művészetekről szólt, ami európai nagyvárosokban és New Yorkban jelent meg. Mindenki büszke volt az színvonalas cikkek és az eyecandy látványvilág elegyéből összegyúrt modern nézőpontú magazinra.

Később megalkotta saját rajzolt karakterét, Gilbertet. Segítségével különböző stílustörténeti korokon, irányzatokon és tárgykultúrán, valamint az aktuális trendeken kalauzolja végig a legkisebb korosztályt.

A Móra könyvkiadó művészeti vezetője és két helyen tanít.

Most a kortárs magyar képzőművészetben még alig feldolgozott vagy érintett ball-culture, drag témakörhöz nyúlt a témától látszólag teljesen távoli absztrakt, formalista módon.

A glamour és a glitter performatív világától eltérő, visszafogott módon reflektál a drag szubkulturális jelenségre, és meglepő találékonysággal emel ki abból egy olyan ovális, geometrikus formát, a köröm mandula formáját, ami ugyanolyan meghatározó és elidegeníthetetlen kulturális attribútuma a dragnek, mint a glitter, a műszempilla vagy a paróka. 

A körömforma síkkonstruktív torzításával a figurativitás és az absztrakció hibriditását teremti meg Zoltán, amin a kezdetleges Adobe programok 90-es évek végi grafikai hibáinak direkt beillesztésével tematizál. A csavar a történetben, hogy mindezt a hímzés alkalmazott technikájának segítségével teszi, újrahasznosított bútorszövetek, és vintage ruha anyagok segítségével.

A textil tulajdonképpen határtalan. Lonovics második képzőművészeti sorozatában a hímzés, mint egy általában a női munkák közé sorolt kézműves technika ugyanolyan éles kontrasztba kerül a digitális képpel és az abba direkt elhelyezett glitchel, mint a drag a síkkonstruktivizmussal. Lonovics érzékenysége, gondolatai kibontásának finom titka és hatása éppen ebben rejlik. 

A digitális képszerkesztés, a vektorgrafikus képfelületek az alkotó mindennapjainak része, akárcsak a drag, a futás, vagy az elektronikus zene. Ezek összessége jelenik meg a hímzett sorok kottaszerű képében.

Ilyenformán nem is lehetne önazonosabb második képzőművészeti sorozatának témája és megjelenése.

​​Zoltán Lonovics has long been a key player in the creative industry. He is always coming up with new, eye-catching, fresh and perspective content.

While still a student at MOME, he became the Art director of the Room magazine, a bi-annual bilingual magazine on fashion and contemporary art published in major European cities and New York, edited in Budapest. Everybody was proud of the modern perspective of the magazine, a blend of high quality articles and eyecandy visuals.

Later he created his own cartoon character, Gilbert. He helps guide the youngest age group through different style eras, trends and object culture, as well as current trends.

He is the artistic director of the Móra publishing house and teaches in two places.

She has now taken up the subject of ball-culture and drag, a subject that has hardly been dealt with or touched upon in contemporary Hungarian art, in an abstract, formalistic way that seems to be completely removed from the subject.

He reflects on the subcultural phenomenon of drag in a restrained way, different from the performative world of glamour and glitter, and with surprising ingenuity he highlights an oval, geometric form, the almond shape of the nail, which is as much a defining and inalienable cultural attribute of drag as glitter, false eyelashes or wigs.

 Zoltán creates a hybridity of figurativity and abstraction through a flat distortion of the nail shape, which he thematizes by directly incorporating graphic errors from rudimentary Adobe programs from the late 90s. The twist in the story is that it does all this using the applied technique of embroidery, using recycled furniture fabrics and vintage cloth.

In fact, textiles are limitless. In Lonovics’s second series of visual art, embroidery, as a craft technique usually classified as a women's work, contrasts as sharply with the digital image and the glitch directly placed within it as drag does with flat constructivism. This is the subtle secret of Lonovics's sensitivity, the subtle secret of the unfolding of his ideas and their impact.

Digital image editing and vector graphic surfaces are part of the artist's everyday life, just like drag, running or electronic music. All of this is expressed in the embroidered lines of the music score. 

In this way, the subject matter and presentation of his second series of visual art could not be more self-identical.
